Hafan Y Waun has two floors and is home to 90 residents – 50 who live on the ground floor and 40 on the first floor. All our residents receive long-term residential dementia care. We also offer ‘respite’ care – a service for people who wish to stay with us on a short-term basis. We have a professional team of care staff who work with you to make sure all of your care needs are met. We provide 24-hour personal care that’s tailored to meet your individual needs. This includes both emotional and spiritual support, as well as any practical support you may need, such as help with washing or dressing. Most important, we make sure we treat each person living at the home with the respect and dignity we all deserve. Specialist Dementia Care Our dementia care practice is based on research and evidence to achieve the best possible outcomes for people living with dementia. We work closely with the University of Bradford School of Dementia Studies to provide staff with training that helps them to understand the experience of dementia and how best to support families and friends. Every person has their own needs and preferences and people living with dementia are no different. We encourage families to get involved so we can add to our understanding of the person living with dementia. This helps us to shape the care and support we provide and keep that person’s routines.
