Glanmarlais Care Home is owned by Padda Care Ltd and specialises in residential care for older persons living with Dementia. Located in the heart of the village of Llandybie, Glanmarlais is set within walking distance of the local church, school and restaurants. There is also small bespoke shops, a café, butchers, chemist, bakery and supermarket. Ammanford Town is a five minute drive / bus ride away. Glanmarlais has played an integral part within the community since first opened in 1969. Today the home has been completely refurbished, consisting of 2 storeys offering 37 single occupancy rooms with on-suite facilities and walk in showers. Great emphasis has been put into the colour scheme, lighting and wall coverings. The use of small patterns, pastel colours and points of reference can benefit residents and offer clarity. All areas throughout the home are bespoke in line with Dementia Care Best Practice, tailoring a persons care to their interests, abilities, history and personality. It is important to us that a high percentage of our staff are welsh speaking being located in a large welsh speaking community. All staff will undertake specific Dementia Care training by undertaking the Wicking Centre Dementia Research & Education Centre awareness course.
