Cartref Residential Home for the elderly is situated in the village of Henllan in the Teifi Valley, 3 miles from the market town of Newcastle Emlyn. Nearby there is a local Post Office and the Teifi Valley Railway Station. Cartref provides residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance. Trained carers strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring environment. Home cooked meals are provided daily and special dietary needs are catered for. Cartref's policy is to accept residents over the age of 65, for all types of care. There are 36 beds, 20 of whom are registered for those who may have a diagnosis of Dementia. The home's extensive activity programme is designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem and social interaction. Numerous facilities and services are provided, such as hairdressing, chiropodist, trolley shop, library, events and outings in out mini bus. Religious service is held once a month.
